The trailer for the third installment of the Deadpool franchise was released during the Super Bowl, and it promises more action, humor, and meta-references.

The trailer for Deadpool 3, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2018 blockbuster Deadpool 2, was unveiled during the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 11, 2024. The trailer features Ryan Reynolds reprising his role as Wade Wilson, aka Deadpool, the irreverent and invincible anti-hero who breaks the fourth wall and makes fun of everything from pop culture to superhero tropes.

The trailer opens with Deadpool sitting on a couch in his apartment, watching the Super Bowl on TV. He comments on the game, the commercials, and the halftime show, while eating nachos and drinking beer. He then turns to the camera and says, “Hey, you. Yeah, you. The one who’s watching me watch the Super Bowl. You’re probably wondering why I’m here. Well, it’s because I have some exciting news to share with you. That’s right, Deadpool 3 is coming soon to a theater near you. And to prove it, here’s a sneak peek of what you can expect from the most awesome movie ever made. Enjoy.”

The trailer then cuts to a montage of scenes from the movie, showing Deadpool in various locations and situations, such as:

  • Riding a motorcycle on a highway, while shooting at a helicopter and dodging missiles.
  • Parachuting from a plane, while holding a sign that says “Hello, Kitty”.
  • Crashing a wedding, while wearing a tuxedo and a mask.
  • Dancing with a group of dancers, while wearing a disco outfit and a wig.
  • Teaming up with Cable (Josh Brolin), Domino (Zazie Beetz), and other members of the X-Force, while wearing matching uniforms and posing for the camera.
  • Breaking into the Avengers headquarters, while wearing a Captain America shield and a Thor hammer.
  • Meeting Spider-Man (Tom Holland), while wearing a Spider-Man mask and a Deadpool shirt.
  • Making fun of various movies, such as Star Wars, The Matrix, The Fast and the Furious, and The Lion King.

The trailer ends with Deadpool saying, “So, what do you think? Are you excited for Deadpool 3? I know I am. And I’m not just saying that because I’m contractually obligated to. I’m saying that because I love you. And I want you to be happy. And the only way to be happy is to watch Deadpool 3. Coming soon to a theater near you. Rated R. For Really Awesome. And also for violence, language, nudity, and sexual content. But mostly for Really Awesome. See you soon. Bye.”

The trailer then shows the logo of Deadpool 3, followed by the release date: May 4, 2024.
