RAIGARH: DB Power, Bhaskar Group Company is planning to establish a 30 bed hospital under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program at Dharamjaigarh in Raigarh district in the state of Chhahttisgarh, where company has been allotted coal block for its 1600 MW (2×800 MW) coal based thermal power project. Company has demanded 2.5 acre of land for construction of hospital building.
According to media report, Mr. Deep Kamra, Vice President, DB Power said, we are very committed to build a hospital for villagers. Hospital would be equipped with all modern health facility under one roof. We are targeting to complete construction work in next 8-10 months.
The reserves spread out across 1700 acre covering six villages of Taraimar, Bayasi, Medarmar, Dharamjaigarh, Dharam colony and Bayasi colony of Raigarh situated about 330 km east of Raipur, the capital of the state. If clearance granted, the company plans to mine two million tonnes of coal per annum.
Local people of the area are refusing to give land for coal mining and opposing the project.
Project shall displace 524 families from six settlements to extract 2 million tonnes of coal every year to fuel thermal power plant. Company power project is coming up near Janjagir.
DB Power is a subsidiary of DB Corp Ltd, a media conglomerate that owns four newspapers, including the Hindi Dainik Bhaskar and English DNA, that have a combined readership of 17.5 million readers, and the My FM radio station.
