Dalmia Bharat Foundation has inaugurated a 10,000-litre community water system in Pedda Komerla village, benefiting 80 households and more than 200 livestock.
KAPADA, Andhra Pradesh (India CSR®): Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF), the CSR- corporate social responsibility arm of Dalmia Bharat Ltd., has inaugurated a household water supply system in Pedda Komerla village, Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh, providing reliable access to safe drinking water for nearly 80 households. The initiative addresses the deterioration of the village’s decade-old water supply infrastructure, which had become unreliable due to ageing pipelines, leakages and blockages.
To restore dependable access, the foundation installed a 10,000-litre HDPE water storage system, integrated with the existing pipeline network to ensure a safe and consistent water supply for daily household use. As per the project, the water will not only be used for drinking purposes but will also cater to domestic use and support the rearing of more than 200 livestock, ensuring the availability of water for animals as well. The project is expected to improve sanitation, public health and the overall quality of life for residents.
Commenting on the initiative, Arpan Dilipkumar Parekh, Unit Head, Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd., said, “Every community deserves dependable access to basic services that enable people to live with dignity. The project was inaugurated by Somala Venkata Gopal Reddy, HR Head, Kadapa Plant, in the presence of other officials from Dalmia Bharat along with more than 40 villagers from Pedda Komerla, Kadapa District.
