Chennai: Being a responsible, corporate citizen, Zebronics – India’s leading brand of IT Peripherals, & Consumer Electronics along with Myrtle, an NGO based in Chennai, had organised a day camp for 20 children, who are battling with Cancer, along with their families on National Cancer Awareness Day at Chennai. This program was carried out in the presence of Mr. Rajesh Doshi, Co-Founder & Director, Zebronics, who interacted with all the kids as well as their parents, paying attention to each of them to understand the grass-root level concerns.

The children were quite rejuvenated and happy to receive the goodies and then followed by a delightful lunch. Following this, they were all taken to play arcade games where their eyes sparkled even brighter and their smiles even wider. Towards the end of the day, these beautiful souls sang and danced and were just happy to feel like a child. All were then dropped off safe & sound ending the day with laughter & smiles.

Reminiscingthe day, Mr. Rajesh Doshi, said: “Today was a blissful day. Zebronics has always been blessed with opportunities like this and via its CSR unit, we regularly carry out these activities under the Zeb-Health initiative and often collaborate with NGOs as well. Although these kids, often are not able to pursue proper education since they are battling with a dreadful disease, they still have the same innocence and spirit that any kid of their age would have.Creating awareness for cancer is really the need of the hour & we need to reduce the stigma associated with it. Awareness via such interactions would definitely help in understanding more about cancer, lifestyle changes to reduce the risk and timely detection can really lower the suffering and deaths as well. While interacting with their parents, I realised that the hurdles they’re facing are mostly due to lack of information & knowledge and education is still the biggest barrier to overcome. These often lead them astray. Not only will we take steps in the informative aspect, but also take right steps to impart skills to boost their confidence and help them overcome challenges in any facet. In this regard, Zebronics is going to notch-up its CSR programs and make more strides.
