LANJIGARH: Celebrating International Women’s Week, Vedanta Ltd. had organised a ‘Women-Meet’ at Lanjigarh in partnership with Mahashakti Foundation. The program saw a massive participation of over 1500 women members across all associations, SHGs, ASHA, Anganwadi members and intellectuals from the region.
The dignitaries laid emphasis upon the contribution of women towards development of the community. Education and Awareness, Health and Cleanliness, safety, and economic development of the women were highlighted to be a key necessities for development of the society. To strive for an alcohol addiction-free culture was emphasized during the program.

The guests inaugurated a few small local industries in addition to the Kalahandi – Kankeri – Dhokra project by Vedanta. The program was coordinated by Jogananda Behera, Secretary – Mahashakti Foundation.
