As part of ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives towards the COVID-19 relief efforts, RBL Bank, with the support of AquaKraft & TEE Foundation installed 1st of its kind unique Covid response Initiative called as BEING SWACHH STATION – a combination of a Water Filtration & Dispensing Unit and soap hand washing station near RTO office at Andheri (W). The management & operations of this station would be handled by a women self- help group.
The technology adopted in BEING SWACHH is totally green with the filtration technology which is gravity fed, no wastage of water as backwash, with no sludge. Similarly, the Hand Washing which is foot pedal operated consumes far less water than a normal handwash and treats the gray water post hand wash through a green technology and recycles the water making it water positive.
The station was inaugurated in the presence of esteemed guests namely, Shanta Vallury Gandhi, Head- HR, CSR & Internal Branding at RBL Bank, Actor Shreyas Talpade, Dr.Bharati Lavekar, MLA Versova Vidhan Sabha constituency, Dr. Subramanya Kusnur, Founder Chairman & CEO of AquaKraft.
Speaking on this initiative, Shanta Vallury Gandhi (Head- HR, CSR & Internal Branding, RBL Bank) said, “We are a socially responsible organization. This initiative is in line with RBL Bank’s mission of ‘Community as The Cause’, and we are committed to support women empowerment, sustainable livelihoods, in every way possible during these challenging times. This installation has multifold impact, it will not only ensure availability of hygienic water for consumption and handwashing by our fellow citizens, but also provide employment to the SHG women managing the station.”
