Building of Veda Vidyalaya, constructed with support from Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL), inaugurated at Siddhamath, Keonjhar; With the new building, 40 students along with staff got permanent building for class room and accommodation
KENDUJHAR: The new building of Veda Vidyalaya, constructed with support from Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL), has been inaugurated at Siddhamath, Keonjhar on Friday July 4, 2014. T. S. Shanbhogue, EVP & Unit Head of JSPL Barbil and Pratap Chandra Hota, Sub – Collector, Kendujhar Sadar inaugurated the building in a spiritual atmosphere filled with Vedic chants. Among others present on the occasion were Shri Biranchi N Mohanty, PD (DRDA, Kendujhar); Dr. R C Rout, Head (CSR & EMD, JSPL), and Subhash Ch. Rai, Tahsildar (Keonjhar)
Addressing the students and people present on the occasion, Sub Collector (Kendujhar Sadar) Shri. Pratap Chandra Hota said, “I appreciate JSPL’s effort to promote education and culture in the region. This new building will facilitate in better learning of the students”.
EVP & Unit Head of JSPL (Barbil), T. S. Shanbhogue said, “Vedas teaches us the methods of scientific and balanced way of life in addition sustainable management of natural resources”. JSPL supported the new building to further drive the vision of its Chairman Naveen Jindal, he added.

The Veda Vidyalaya, established in 2004 is engaged in promoting Vedic culture and scholarship. This was operating from a rented house. In order to provide better facilities to the students, studying in this Vidyalay, JSPL supported Rs. 15 Lakhs for construction of the two-storey building that has four rooms, one office room and a Kitchen in 1680 Sq. ft Area.
“Students from different places, cultures and background have studied and are currently studying here. With this new building we got a permanent campus and this will boost the institution’s activity, said Kailash Panda, Secretary of Veda Vidyalaya. At present, 40 students are studying in this Vidyalaya.
On the occasion, the sacred thread ceremony of new students was also performed. JSPL’s support for the building was appreciated by the people, government officials as well as the staffs present during the programme.
