Chennai: Nippon Paint (India) Private Limited (Decorative Division) Asia’s leading paint manufacturer today announced the successful completion of its final batch of painter’s certification, company informed.
A total of 10,000 painters have received the TNSDC certification that will now recognize them as Professional painters. This is following Nippon Paint’s announcement earlier this year in January, to retrain and certify these painters by June.
B.Jothi Nirmalasamy, Commissioner of Employment and Training & MD, TNSDC and Jagdish Acharya -CEO, Paints and Coatings Skill Council handed out the RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) certificate for the painters who successfully completed the course.
The painters received the new certification following a free professional training at Nippon Paint’s PROceed training academy, Chennai.
“We are certain that this initiative will help develop a high skilling ecosystem and help these painters be more professional and equip themselves with the latest technological developments that are required to sustain in the industry”, S Mahesh Anand, President said.
Paints and Coatings Skill Council (PCSC) was established by the Indian Paint Association (IPA) with the support of Indian Paints and Coatings Association (IPCA) and the Indian Small-Scale Paint Association (ISSPA). A Sector Skill Council under the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Paints and Coatings Skill Council (PCSC) is an industry initiative led and managed by coatings industry associations and paint companies.
