PUNE: Mercedes-Benz India together with Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP) has set up an oxygen plant that will support at least 200 beds at the Seth Tarachand Hospital. The facility, with a capacity of 280 liters/minute, will also support the future expansion of the hospital and provide surplus oxygen to other hospitals through cylinders.
The plant, which will bolster oxygen stocks at a time when India is still reporting over 30,000 COVID-19 cases a day and with a third wave predicted, was officially handed over to the hospital in a ceremony today in the presence of the Honorable Governor of Maharashtra Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari and Mercedes-Benz India’s Managing Director and CEO Martin Schwenk.
Managing Director & CEO Mercedes-Benz India Martin Schwenk said, “It remains our endeavor to support the local community and authorities wherever possible and stand together with them during challenging times. The oxygen plant that we are jointly setting up in Pune will not only support the current requirements of Seth Tarachand Hospital but also help them for any future expansion. This is a long-term project, which will support the local community even after the pandemic.”
