The Advanced Diploma in Automotive Mechatronics (ADAM) program is an initiative by Mercedes-Benz India, which is propagated among students with the help of educational institutions.

Mercedes-Benz India, a luxury automobile brand, reinforced its commitment towards society and its focus on skill development by signing a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the prestigious Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU), to provide the one-year Advanced Diploma in Automotive Mechatronics course (ADAM).

Shekhar Bhide, Vice President – Customer Services, Mercedes-Benz India said “At Mercedes-Benz we take pride in the diversity of our employees and capitalise on the different experiences, skills and perspectives they have. Programmes like Advanced Diploma in Automotive Mechatronics are important for imparting practical knowledge and skill development along with world-class training and understanding of cutting-edge technology on par with global industry standards.”

These courses have been conducted since 2006 across government institutions in Pune, Aurangabad, New Delhi, Noida, Trivandrum, Bangalore, Ghaziabad and now Bhubaneshwar.

Bhide added, “As India’s leading luxury car manufacturer, Mercedes-Benz India has always actively worked on and produced skilled manpower for the automobile industry, which has played a pivotal role in increasing employment opportunities, improving working standards, and upgrading and improving standards of manufacturing and product quality. We are glad to collaborate with Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU). With this association, we are extending our commitment to support the governments’ skill development initiative and will provide an appropriate platform to aspiring students to prepare for a bright career in the automotive industry.”

Speaking at the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Neharika Vohra said “We are extremely glad to have collaborated with such a distinguished and experienced organization. DSEU faculty as well as its students will greatly benefit from this highly advanced course and get insights from the field with a new perspective.”

Dr. Vohra also stressed upon the fact that “Many students have a childhood dream to work in distinguished automobile firms. Through this partnership, the University desires to provide a platform for students to achieve their dreams while also assisting them in getting their dream jobs” She was also glad to announce that “The training will include factory visits to Mercedes Benz Pune plant which will provide hand-on experience to students and encourage them to connect with industry professionals.”

The Advanced Diploma in Automotive Mechatronics (ADAM) program is an initiative by Mercedes-Benz India, which is propagated among students with the help of educational institutions.

The Mechatronics training school at Mercedes-Benz India, started in the year 2006, with the aim of providing trained service personnel and engineers to the industry. To address this requirement, Mercedes-Benz India and the dealership network joined hands to start the program and train students to address the requirements of Mercedes-Benz technology and innovation. Only 20 students qualify to take the course per batch. Since its inception, 660 students have successfully completed the program and have been placed not only within the Mercedes-Benz network but also automobile industry

The Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) was established in August 2020 by the Government of NCT of Delhi to equip students with world-class skill education to enable access to aspirational jobs and inculcate entrepreneurial mindset and entrepreneurship. DSEU aims to create a win-win for the youth and the industry by filling the existing gaps in skill training. The University wishes to change the existing paradigm of skilling, making skill acquisition aspirational and providing opportunities to all for skilling, up-skilling and reskilling.

The Government of NCT of Delhi also integrated ten government institute of technologies formerly known as Polytechnics, two centres of Delhi Institutes of Tool Engineering, GB Pant Engineering College and all the existing World Class Skill Centres into the Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University, making it one of the largest Universities in Delhi from its inaugural year itself.
