JSPL Foundation, the CSR arm of Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. observed the International Day of Older Persons on 1st Oct, 2020 by unveiling its programme SWASTI at its Medicine Center located at Village Jamunda Jungle, Angul. Attending by various elderly people of the nearby villages having health issues, the Programme incepted with a high note of optimism in the local community.
The main objective of the programme SWASTI is to provide geriatric care through Naturopathy, Yoga, Pranayama, Physical (joint/muscle mobility/relaxation) exercises with manually operated physiotherapy equipment, Counseling for diet with other spiritual engagements.
Such interventions are being managedin coordination with the Doctor of Occupatiional Health Centre of JSPL, Angul, Physiotherapists from Asha The Hope Center by JSPL Foundation and Yoga and Meditation practitioners.
K. P. Behera, Chief Medical Officer of Occupational Health Centre of JSPL Angul attended the inaugural function and reiterated the commitment of JSPL Foundation for Elderly people with various health ailments and said “this center will provide customized health care to address physical, Mental and spiritual well-being of the elderly people suffering from age related health problems and it will definitely helpful for the society at a large”.
The inauguration ceremony was observed by adhering to COVID-19 precautionary measures issues by the state Government and district administration.
Complementing the Medical and CSR Team for the above initiative, Damodar Mittal, the Acting Location Head of JSPL said “The Senior Citizens deserve our care and concern and we should continue to extend holistic support for their wellbeing”. JSPL Foundation has been encompassing all cross Section of the Society in its development programmes.” Mitt,al added .
