NUH (Haryana): After huge success in Chhendipada, Banarpal and Angul block of Angul district in Odisha, Kishori Express, the flagship programme of JSPL Foundation for controlling adolescent anaemia among girls has been flagged off at Nuh district of Haryana by Union Steel Minister Chaudhary Birendra Singh.
Kishori express will cover Punhana revenue block of Nuh district. It will focus upon the Adolescent girls in each village and will operate in close collaboration with District Administration/ICDS/CDMO district.
Kishori Express programme was launched in April 2011 in Chhendipada block and replicated at Banarpal block of Angul in 2012 with an objective to control anaemia in adolescent girls through timely detection and intervention. It covers 528 villages in which more than 54,000 girls are being regularly screened, counselled and treated. Among them, more than 90% girls have retained their normal haemoglobin level after more than one year of intervention.
The assembly constituency of Nuh belongs to Gurgaon parliamentary constituency.
