Balconagar/Korba: Bharat Aluminium Company (BALCO), India’s iconic aluminium producer, organized a week-long celebration of International Day of Happiness to boost employee engagement, and increase happiness and well-being of its employees. Throughout the Happiness Week, the company conducted various activities aimed at boosting employee morale and creating a holistic work environment, aimed at infusing them with renewed vigor and enthusiasm.
During this week, the company distributed ‘Happiness at BALCO’ cards for employees to share their reasons for happiness, which the company could further augment, and exchanging ‘You make me happy’ cards with fellow colleagues and friends to showcase their gratitude. The company also encouraged employees to create vision boards for their happiness, and organized team outings and lunches where happiness sessions, stand up comedy and other fun activities were conducted for team bonding. More than 2,000 employees participated in the initiatives.

Recently, BALCO was also conferred with the prestigious ‘Happiest Workplace Award 2022’ by Happy+, a prominent consulting firm instilling the Happiness quotient into organizational cultures, in association with Business World. The award was presented in recognition of the company’s close focus on employee well-being and happiness in its quest for sustainable business growth. With this, BLCO has emerged amongst the top 30 Indian companies creating the most conducive workplaces for its employees. In the past, BALCO have also been recognized with awards such as Arogya World Healthy Workplace Award – 2022 and Great Place to Work in 2023.
