New Delhi: To mark International Women’s Day, Chetak Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of Chetak group, a leading player in logistics in India gave away Scholarship Cheques to the girl students of Rajokari Technical Institute, part of the Delhi Skill and Entrepreneur University (DSEU). Chetak Group had earlier signed an MoU to jointly develop a course curriculum for Logistics and Transportation Courses at DSEU and to offer Scholarships to the students of Road Transport and e-commerce students.
The event was held at DSEU’s Rajokari Technical Institute Campus, today, wherein the girl students were handed over the scholarship cheques by Mr. Mukesh Haritash and Mr. Sachin Haritash, Directors, Chetak Group in the presence of DSEU Vice-Chancellor Prof Rehan Khan Suri, Prof Porusu Ramanaiah Campus Director and Mr. Arun Arora Director, Chetak Foundation.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rehan Khan Suri Pro, Vice-Chancellor, DSEU said, “We are delighted to see Chetak Foundation’s commitment turning into action, as a follow up to DSEU’s agreement with Chetak Logistics to work on upgrading the course structure of Logistics and Transportation courses at DSEU and to enhance employability of our students. We are glad that Chetak Group is offering Jai Krishna Scholarship awards to students pursuing these courses. We look forward to maintaining a long and fruitful relationship.”
DSEU has been established by the Government of Delhi in August 2020 for Skill development and to seek employment and inculcate an entrepreneurial mindset. DSEU aims to fill the existing vacancy of skill training in the industry and provide great opportunities to the youth. The university will offer people from all sections of society to study here so that world-class education can be available to the underprivileged sections of society. The courses offered by DSEU will be driven by the needs of the industry and will prepare the graduates for a career.
Mr Sachin HaritasH, Director, Chetak Logistics said “We could not have chosen a day better than Women’s Day to initiate our scholarship for the girl students of prestigious Delhi Skill and Entrepreneur University. Our father Late Shri J K Sharma created livelihood opportunities for thousands of people and was passionate to help the underprivileged people in society, particularly, the girls. To take his vision forward, the Foundation has set up ‘Jai Krishna Scholarship’ to help students of the Economically Weaker Section. We are thankful to Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof. Suri, Campus Director Rajokari Technical Institute, Mr. Porusu Ramanaiah and their teams for organizing the event and taking our vision forward.” he added.
The Rajokari Technical Institute, under the aegis of DSEU, offers Diploma Courses in IT and Engineering and Graduate courses in Land Transportation and E-commerce.
Prof. Porusu Ramanaiah, Campus Director, Rajokari Technical Institute said, “It is heartening to see Chetak Foundation come forward and support girl students of our institution. This will really encourage them to excel. Chetak Group’s generous offer to give industry exposure, guest faculty and internship to our students will make them job-ready and will add huge value to students’ learning.”
Chetak Foundation is working on improving the quality of life for underprivileged communities in the logistic space, conceiving specific interventions to enhance beneficiaries’ experience. Some of these include Oxygen Plus (an environment initiative), Sathya Plus (a Health & Fitness initiative), Shikha Se Rozgaar (an Education to employment initiative) and Zindagi Plus (a Road Safety Initiative).
Recently the Chetak Foundation was bestowed upon with the CSR India Award for Skill Development and CST Times Award for its Health Initiatives during Covid. The Foundation distributed high-quality sanitization kits to thousands of Covid front-line workers.
Besides DSEU, Chetak Foundation has also tied up with Vision Spring for its Vision and Road Safety initiatives. The Foundation has also associated with credible organizations like Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Delhi Metro, IoCL, Haryana Government, CRPF, Fortis Healthcare Max Healthcare and CRPF for its health, nutrition, environmental and road safety projects.
