PUNE (India CSR): Bharat Forge, a Pune-based business conglomerate, not just observed World Youth Skills Day but converted it into a significant celebration of their dedication to youth skill development. The company demonstrated an unyielding commitment to empowering India’s youth and making a considerable contribution to the national Skill India movement. This occasion underscored the necessity of providing youth with skill development opportunities, preparing them for secure employment or entrepreneurial ventures.

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, Bharat Forge has shown active support for the national agenda on Skill Development. The company has embarked on a journey to empower India’s youth by implementing a diverse array of initiatives. This not only indicates their involvement in societal growth but also reveals a purpose-driven business model that aligns with national priorities.

Centre of Excellence & Incubation Centre: The Future-Tech Training Ground

Bharat Forge has instituted a Centre of Excellence at Vidya Pratishthan, Baramatito turn aspirations into reality. This innovative hub ensures maximum participation of girl students with an opportunity to learn and master new-age technology skills such as Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Robotics, and Data Science. The Centre of Excellence represents a progressive stride towards bridging the digital skills gap, thus enabling the Indian youth to thrive in the global digital era.

Bridging the Industry-Academia Gap

The company’s partnership with four Government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) for its development. This facilitated the vocational training to rural youth thereby helping for employability. An ongoing endeavour is to set up a CNC simulation lab at ITI Khed. This initiative highlights the company’s commitment to enhancing practical know-how, thereby reducing the industry-academia gap.

Mentorship Programs: Guiding the Torchbearers

In an effort to boost professional expertise among the youth, Bharat Forge undertook a mentorship program for the girl students who are either pursuing engineering or diploma. Providing professional exposure and personalized guidance, these initiatives prepared the youth for driving innovation and contributing to India’s economic prosperity.

Skilling the Farmers: Imparting training to make farmers entrepreneur

Agriculture is the backbone of the Indian economy. The skilled farmers contribute a lot to boost the agrarian economy. Different entrepreneurship training programs like food processing, preparing dairy products, techniques of goat rearing, organic farming etc. were organized for the farmers to make them entrepreneurs.

Community Development: Imparting vocational skills to community women

Bharat Forge believes that women play an important role in community development and to make them self-sufficient, women are encouraged to acquire various skills, become socially aware and participate in small scale business. Community development initiatives include vocational training to women from different communities with an aim to enhance their self-dependency and develop entrepreneurial skills in them.
