NEW DELHI (India CSR): Axis Bank, one of India’s leading private sector banks, has stepped up to support the millions of devotees attending the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. With a focus on safety, sustainability, and convenience, the Bank has rolled out a series of initiatives designed to enhance the pilgrimage experience. From digital security to on-ground assistance, Axis Bank is ensuring that pilgrims can focus on their spiritual journey without worrying about logistical challenges.

A Holistic Approach to Pilgrim Welfare

The Kumbh Mela, one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, brings together millions of devotees from across the globe. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by pilgrims, Axis Bank has gone beyond traditional banking services to offer a range of solutions that cater to their physical, financial, and digital needs.

CSR: Axis Bank Enhances Kumbh Mela 2025 Experience with Safety, Sustainability, and Digital Initiatives

1. Cybersecurity Awareness: SanskritPassword.com & DevanagariPIN.com

In today’s digital age, cybersecurity is a growing concern. To address this, Axis Bank has introduced SanskritPassword.com, a platform that uses the complexity of the Sanskrit language to generate secure passwords. This innovative tool helps users create strong, hack-resistant passwords, reducing the risk of cyberattacks.

At the Kumbh Mela, the Bank is conducting live demonstrations and distributing QR code-enabled keychains that link directly to the platform. These keychains make it easy for pilgrims to access the website and create secure passwords on the go.

Additionally, Axis Bank has launched DevanagariPIN.com, a tool that allows users to convert meaningful words into numerical codes using the Devanagari script. This personalized approach to PIN creation adds an extra layer of security to banking transactions, ensuring peace of mind for pilgrims.

2. On-Ground Assistance: Help Desks Across Prayagraj

Navigating the vast Kumbh Mela can be overwhelming for many pilgrims. To make the experience smoother, Axis Bank has set up dedicated help desks at its 11 branches in Prayagraj. These desks offer a range of services, including:

  • Guidance on navigating the Mela grounds
  • Currency exchange and financial assistance
  • General information to enhance the pilgrimage experience

These help desks serve as a one-stop resource for pilgrims, ensuring they have the support they need at every step of their journey.

3. Mobile ATM Van & Eco-Friendly Cloth Bag Vending Machines

Access to cash is crucial for pilgrims, especially in a large event like the Kumbh Mela. Axis Bank has deployed a Mobile ATM Van within the Mela grounds, offering services like cash withdrawals, currency exchange, and coin distribution. This initiative ensures that devotees have easy access to financial services, even in the midst of the bustling event.

In line with its commitment to sustainability, the Bank has partnered with the Nagar Nigam Prayagraj to install cloth bag vending machines at high-footfall areas. These machines encourage pilgrims to opt for eco-friendly alternatives to plastic bags, promoting environmental consciousness during the event.

4. Driving Digital Awareness: Collaboration with RBI on CBDC

As digital currency gains traction, Axis Bank is working with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to educate pilgrims about Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC). Over five days, Bank representatives will be stationed at the RBI camp within the Mela, offering insights into digital currency and sharing tips on fraud prevention.

This initiative aims to empower pilgrims with the knowledge they need to navigate the digital financial landscape safely and confidently.

5. Protecting Pilgrims from the Cold: Woollen Cap Distribution

The Kumbh Mela takes place during the winter months, and the cold weather can be challenging for many devotees. To provide relief, Axis Bank is distributing 80,000 woollen caps at strategic locations, including ghats, akharas, and Bank branches. A dedicated team is overseeing the distribution to ensure that as many pilgrims as possible benefit from this initiative.

A Commitment to Community Welfare

Speaking about these initiatives, Arnika Dixit, President & Head – Branch Banking, Axis Bank, said, “It is an absolute honor for Axis Bank to serve the millions of devotees attending Kumbh Mela 2025. This gathering embodies faith, devotion, and the collective spirit of togetherness. At Axis Bank, we believe that true service goes beyond transactions—it is about enabling experiences, fostering security, and empowering every devotee on their spiritual journey.”

Conclusion: A Trusted Partner in Moments That Matter

By integrating financial accessibility with on-ground assistance, digital security, and sustainable solutions, Axis Bank is ensuring that pilgrims can focus on their spiritual journey without concerns about safety or convenience. As millions gather for this sacred occasion, the Bank remains steadfast in its mission to support and empower communities, reinforcing its role as a trusted partner in moments that truly matter.
