MUMBAI (India CSR): While Valentine’s Day is often celebrated with gifts, chocolates, and flowers, Akshaya Chaitanya, chose to mark the occasion with a deeper, more meaningful gesture by feeding those who selflessly care for their loved ones. Through its ‘#FeedingWithLove’ campaign under Swastha Ahara initiative. The NGO provided nutritious meals and roses to 1000 patient caretakers at KEM Hospital. This gesture has successfully brought love to life in its purest form through nourishment, warmth, and kindness.

CEO’s Perspective on Supporting Caregivers

Vikas Parchhanda, CEO of Akshaya Chaitanya, emphasized the importance of this initiative said, “Caretakers of patients in hospitals spend days and nights looking after their loved ones, often neglecting their own health. Many of them skip meals or survive on inadequate nutrition, which impacts their well-being, leaving them physically exhausted and emotionally drained. Through #FeedingWithLove, we aim not only to provide them with nutritious meals but also to remind them that they are valued and cared for. It’s our responsibility to support them, giving them the strength to navigate this difficult time. This initiative is about spreading true love—one plate at a time, nurturing both the heart and body.” Additionally, through our Swastha Ahara initiative, we serve meals across 32 government hospitals in Mumbai, providing 8,500 caretakers with daily nourishment, uninterrupted.

KEM Hospital’s Appreciation for the Initiative

Dr. Sangeeta Rawat, Dean of KEM Hospital, expressed her gratitude for the initiative, saying, “We deeply appreciate Akshaya Chaitanya’s thoughtful effort to support patient caretakers at KEM Hospital. Many of them travel from the outskirts of Mumbai, Maharashtra, and even other states, often struggling with necessities. By providing them with daily meals, this initiative not only ensures their well-being but also helps them save around ₹200 per day—money they can instead use for their loved one’s medication.

The Struggles of Caregivers and the Impact of the Initiative

Caretakers often face extended stays, depleting their savings and, in some cases, even losing their jobs. The consistent availability of hot, nutritious meals at the same time each day gives them the strength, motivation, and energy they need to continue their caregiving journey.”

#FeedingWithLove: A Campaign of Meaningful Actions

Akshaya Chaitanya’s #FeedingWithLove campaign underlines the message that love is not just about words but about meaningful actions. By nourishing patient caretakers on Valentine’s Day, the NGO has once again demonstrated its commitment to eradicating hunger in Mumbai. With efforts and collective support, they are devoted to bring more warmth, care, and nourishment to those who need it most.
