“Millets are highly nutritious grains rich in fibre, protein, and essential vitamins and minerals. Incorporating millet into one’s diet can improve health outcomes, especially for mothers and children. Millets have always been a part of our cuisine and culture. Mother and Child Health and Nutrition Intervention

This event is part of the broader efforts of the Mother and child health and nutrition intervention, which seeks to reduce child malnutrition and help them lead happier, healthier & productive lives.

The intervention provides specially designed micronutrient-fortified, energy-dense meals to address their nutrition gap while creating awareness in the beneficiary community on health-seeking behaviours and the importance of a balanced and nutritious diet for maternal and child health, enabling families’ healthier and brighter future.

The intervention has essential touch points like sensitising pregnant ladies and lactating mothers about the scientifically correct way of breastfeeding; the importance of keeping a close tab on the health parameters of pregnant women, newborns and their mothers to combat factors that impede physical and cognitive growth of children.

The CSR initiative that began in January this year supports 282 beneficiaries including 55 pregnant and lactating mothers has so far served over 42,000 micro-nutrient fortified meals and conducted 12 community awareness workshops on health & nutrition.
