Badminton players in India are being empowered through the state-of-the-art facilities and advanced training programs offered by the Kotak Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy

TELANGANA (India CSR): Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd and its CSR associate Pullela Gopichand Badminton Foundation recently announced the launch of the Kotak Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy. It is a world-class badminton training center at Gachibowli in Telangana State. The academy is a significant milestone in the shared vision of the Bank and Indian badminton legend, Pullela Gopichand. The aim of the initiative is to bring more laurels to India in the field of Badminton.

Here are 5 important facts about the Kotak Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy:

1. The Academy is a world-class badminton training center located in Gachibowli, Telangana, developed as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Project of Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd on sports.

2. The academy offers advanced infrastructure and amenities, including six air-conditioned badminton courts, a sports science center with resident nutritionists, physiotherapists, and strength and conditioning experts, and top-quality training and coaching facilities at par with global standards.

3. The academy also offers Fellowship Programs for economically backward coaches and players, both within and outside the academy, who have the potential to make it big, as well as a Coach Certification Program for yesteryear sportspersons to expand the reach of badminton training across India.

4. The Pullela Gopichand Badminton Foundation, a public charitable trust, runs the academy, which has produced world-class badminton players such as Saina Nehwal, P.V. Sindhu, and Srikanth Kidambi.

5. The collaboration between Kotak Mahindra Bank and Pullela Gopichand Badminton Foundation is a testament to their commitment to contribute to the growth and development of Indian badminton, with Kotak Mahindra Bank’s CSR efforts focusing on making quality education, livelihood, environment, and sports available to all, regardless of their economic background.

Kotak Mahindra Bank and Pullela Gopichand share a common vision of nurturing world-class badminton players from India and strengthening sports infrastructure and avenues for the future youth of the country.

The new Kotak Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy will offer advanced infrastructure and amenities and coach development that will elevate badminton training to international standards for Indian players. The collaboration is a significant milestone for both organizations, marking the beginning of their journey toward achieving their shared vision of developing exceptional athletes and coaches in the country.

The Kotak Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy boasts state-of-the-art facilities that are at par with global standards. It has a high-performance training center that features six air-conditioned badminton courts, a sports science center, and top-quality training and coaching facilities. The academy’s amenities are designed to help Indian badminton players develop their skills and achieve their full potential.

In addition, the Kotak Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy provides Fellowship Programs for talented but economically disadvantaged coaches and players. The academy also has a Coach Certification Program aimed at extending the reach of badminton training across India.
