The two-day Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainability Conclave- 2022 concluded with a positive note at Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), Darbhanga House, Ranchi. Altogether 12 speakers of different fields including retired IAS officers talked on various aspects of CSR.
CMD CCL PM Prasad, Director (P and P), SK Gomasta, ED, CIL, B Sairam, Independent Directors, GMs and HODs and other dignitaries were present to grace the occasion.
About 150 participants from Coal India and all its subsidiaries including CCL attended the two-day conclave.
Director (HR), IOCL, Ranjan Mohapatra talked about CSR for national building and achieving Social Responsibility Goals (SRGs). He further said that the SRGs are an integral part of business operations of various responsible corporate and leading PSUs including CIL.
Another speaker, Wing Commander Anupama Joshi, who is Director (Personnel) at Doon School, talked about general equality in the armed forces to access to finance in the rural remote hills of Uttarakhand. Head (CSR), TERI Anit Kumar Thakur deliberated on the topic of Corporate Social Responsibility and Climate Change. He stressed that the CSR is an effective tool for mitigating climate change.
General Manager (Operations), Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Mumbai Dr Dhaval Bhatt talked about the facilities given to the common people in the hospital. Emeritus Professor IIT, Mumbai Prof. Satish B. Agnihotri talked about the fast tracking innovative technologies – an ounce of practice being better than a ton of theory during the conclave.
Director (P and IR), CIL, Vinay Ranjan was the Chief Guest on felicitation ceremony. Ranjan stated that the conclave provided a common forum to the employees working in different subsidiaries of Coal India Limited to come together and brainstorm on different facets of the topic. He congratulated the CSR team of different companies including CCL for winning the award.
Coal India and its subsidiaries put up their stall showcasing diversified activities of CSR in their respective company. CCL got an award in the sports and education category for running sports promotion and imparting education to needy students in Jharkhand and best stall of CSR showcasing various new initiatives.
Director (Personnel), CCL, PVKR Mallkarjuna Rao in his speech talked about how the CSR teams of Coal India and its subsidiaries are working in the large interest of the society. He further said that the participants can implement best practices in their company and all speakers have deliberated on different subjects very effectively, which may be adopted in the companies.
