NEW DELHI (India CSR): In a landmark move set to redefine rural India’s technological landscape, Calculus Group, a global leader in next generation technology solutions, has signed a Rs 1000 crore ($120 million USD) Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HRDS INDIA. This visionary collaboration will drive AI powered rural enablement projects, ensuring that the most underserved communities in India gain access to cutting edge technological solutions that transform lives at scale.

Strategic MoU for Rural Development

The Calculus Group, which provides smart technology solutions for smart businesses, has signed this strategic MoU as part of their Technology Collaboration Agreement with HRDS INDIA. As per the agreement, Calculus Group will fulfill projects undertaken by HRDS INDIA in the field of rural development, where technology will play a distinct role in social enablement. Calculus is a pioneer in this technology, providing AI enabled sanitary ware for rural communities, and with this collaboration, they will also offer housing development facilities for rural upliftment.

AI-Driven Infrastructure Expansion

With this strategic alliance, AI driven sanitation, IoT powered infrastructure, and sustainable digital ecosystems will be introduced to rural India, impacting over 7 crore families. The project will set a new global benchmark for integrating AI into rural welfare initiatives, demonstrating how technology can be an equalizer in bridging socio economic divides.

A Personal Mission for the CEO

For Sooraj Vasudevan, Founder and CEO of Calculus Group is more than just another business milestone. It is a deeply personal mission. From humble beginnings as an IITian with a passion for problem solving, to the CEO of a globally expanding Latin American business conglomerate, and now a trailblazer in the global tech landscape, Sooraj has always believed that technology is the great enabler to tap the true human potential.

Vision for Inclusive Growth

“This is more than an MoU. This is a movement. At Calculus, we believe that rural India holds limitless potential, and it is our duty to unlock it. AI and technology should not be a privilege. They should be the foundation for empowerment. “Partnering with HRDS INDIA allows us to take a giant step forward in transforming the lives of millions,” said Sooraj Vasudevan, CEO of Calculus Group. “We are committed to ensuring that these initiatives align with the vision of our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, in building a foundation for sustainable and inclusive growth from the bottom of the socio economic pyramid. This is not just about today. This is about building the India of tomorrow. The India of Vision 2047,” he added.

Role in India’s Vision 2047

As India moves towards Vision 2047, the country’s roadmap for becoming a developed and technology driven global power, initiatives like this will play a critical role in transforming rural economies, driving digital literacy, and creating sustainable infrastructure. By merging AI, IoT, and data driven insights with social welfare, Calculus Group is ensuring that India’s next economic surge will be inclusive, equitable, and powered by technology.

Largest Rural AI Deployment

This collaboration marks the single largest rural AI deployment project, firmly positioning the vision to be among the next big global technology disruptors. With expertise spanning in AI, IoT, cybersecurity, data centers, and sustainability solutions, Calculus is accelerating its mission to create tech driven social impact worldwide.

Building a Tech-Driven Future

By merging innovation with inclusivity, the Calculus HRDS INDIA partnership is not just about building technology. It is about building a future where rural India becomes a global case study for AI led development.
