India vs South Africa 2nd T20I: The second T20I of the three-match series between India and South Africa is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at St George’s Park, Gqeberha. The match is expected to be a nail-biting contest, as both teams have talented players and fierce rivals. India won the first T20I in Mumbai by six wickets, thanks to a superb innings by Virat Kohli and a brilliant bowling spell by Jasprit Bumrah. South Africa will be looking to level the series and challenge India’s dominance in the shortest format of the game.

India vs South Africa 2nd T20I: Team News

South Africa:

The fast bowling department for South Africa faces another setback with Lungi Ngidi’s withdrawal due to a sprained ankle on Friday. This compounds the absence of Kagiso Rabada, who is rested, and the injured Anrich Nortjé. Additionally, the batting lineup is without Quinton de Kock and Rassie van der Dussen.

Possible XI: Reeza Hendricks, Matthew Breetzke, Tristan Stubbs, Aiden Markram (capt), Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, Andile Phehlukwayo, Keshav Maharaj, Gerald Coetzee, Nandré Burger, Tabraiz Shamsi

India:

This match, and the series as a whole, witnesses the return of some of India’s regular players who took a break during the T20Is against Australia following the ODI World Cup. Axar Patel, who played against Australia, is not part of the T20I squad, making way for the straightforward return of Ravindra Jadeja.

Possible XI: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav (capt), Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravi Bishnoi, Mukesh Kumar, Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh

What to expect

Anticipate a game with moderate totals, but, crucially, the weather is expected to be favorable. The most recent T20I held at this venue was in February 2020, featuring South Africa and Australia, where bowlers such as Kane Richardson and Lungi Ngidi made an impact.

The second T20I between India and South Africa is a must-watch for any cricket lover, as it promises to be a thrilling encounter between two strong teams. The match will also be a great opportunity to experience the historic St George’s Park, which has a rich cricketing legacy and a vibrant atmosphere. If you want to book your tickets for the match, you can either do it online through Paytm Insider or offline, depending on your convenience and preference.
