Indian Conglomerate Bolsters Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Installs Solar Water Pump Systems and Enhances Educational Opportunities across Four Villages of Maharashtra
PUNE (India CSR): Bharat Forge Limited, the Pune-based business conglomerate, is driving significant changes in rural landscapes through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, focusing on sustainable solutions. In its most recent project, the company has deployed solar water pump systems to provide clean and accessible water to three rural communities, and fortified educational infrastructure in another.
Solar Water Systems Revolutionize Villages
In a move that has transformed the daily lives of villagers in Rui, Bharat Forge has installed a 24 KW solar water pump system. This system leverages solar energy to provide readily available water to approximately 3,600 villagers. The sustainable nature of the solution not only reduces dependency on electricity and diesel but also eases the financial burden of utility bills for the Gram Panchayat, freeing resources for overall community development.

Following suit, the villages of Belewadi and Jaygaon have also been equipped with solar water pump systems of 12 KW and 24 KW capacities respectively. These initiatives bring water security and sustainability to the villages, benefitting around 3,600 and 2,300 villagers respectively.
Solar Energy for Zilla Parishad Schools
Understanding the pivotal role of education in societal advancement, Bharat Forge has installed a 5 KW solar system at the Zilla Parishad School in Thakarwadi village. The system offers a reliable solution to the power outages that often disrupt the learning process for around 120 school children.

With the solar system ensuring seamless operation of the school’s computer lab and e-learning centres, students can enjoy uninterrupted access to educational resources, significantly improving their learning experiences.
Sustainable Development and Beyond
With an unwavering commitment to sustainable development and a firm belief in corporate social responsibility, Bharat Forge aims to make a lasting positive impact on communities. The company’s ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) focus is deeply embedded into its business practices, fostering sustainable development.
