BANGALORE: Baghirathi Group today said that it is employing 500 women Customer Service Officers (CSOs) or drivers for newly-launched electric fleet in Karnataka under its rydS, which provides low carbon, zero emission, and sustainable mobility solutions.
Key of cars were handed over to the women drivers at mega Rotary Karnataka CSR Conference held in Bangalore.
Together we will hire and train women drivers or Costumer Service Officers (CSO) as we like to address them and harness a larger collective will, says Neil Joseph, Founder Vice Chairman of Baghirathi Group.

On Feb 17, 2018 rydS launched a fleet of 50 electric vehicles from the Vidhana Soudha in the presence of Chief Minister of Karnataka. This was also marked the beginning of an eMobility Awareness Campaign. rydS commences operations with a fleet of 50 all-electric sedans in Bengaluru, growing to 1000 electric vehicles over the next 15-18 months, company said in a statement.
Presently 500 of our colleagues are women. The advent of rydS would see a quantum jump, with more than 50% of the work force comprising women, including lady Costumer Service Officers (CSO) (known generally in the industry as drivers). We have planted more than one lakh saplings and three lakh seed bombs in environmentally challenged landscapes, reiterating our commitment towards sustainability, statement said.
