AHMEDABAD: Hush-talks on women-sensitive subjects are not always the point of discussion for many. Breaking this barrier, a special awareness workshop on Menstrual Hygiene was organised under The Happyness Project. A joint initiative by Nexus Group’s Ahmedabad One and Wajra O’ Force, the session was conducted on May 25, 2019. More than 300 adolescent girls and young women residing in Saraspur, Ahmedabad were benefited from the workshop.
RuzanKhambatta, the Founder of Wajra O’ Force, a dedicated organisation that works towards women empowerment, along with Nishank Joshi, CMO, Nexus Group addressed the attendees by emphasizing on salubrious menstrual practices and the efficient use of sanitary pads, and disbanding the customary ailing practices. Their talk also presented cases where women are isolated during their menstrual cycles while being ignorant towards their sanitation needs.
As a diligent effort towards their good health, The Happyness Project also arranged celebrate the taboo by distributing free sanitary pads to all the participants of the awareness workshop.
