Anant Ambani’s love for animals is not just an emotion—it is a mission.

Through pioneering initiatives, groundbreaking medical infrastructure, and an unrelenting passion for animal welfare, Vantara is setting a new benchmark in wildlife conservation.

JAMNAGAR (India CSR): In a remarkable achievement that underscores his deep love for animals, Anant Ambani’s Vantara has been honored with the ‘Prani Mitra’ National Award, India’s highest recognition in animal welfare, under the Corporate category. Conferred by the Government of India, the award acknowledges the outstanding contributions of Radhe Krishna Temple Elephant Welfare Trust (RKTEWT), a pioneering initiative under Vantara dedicated to the rescue, treatment, and lifelong care of elephants.

The recognition reaffirms Anant Ambani’s lifelong commitment to animal welfare, setting new global benchmarks in ethical wildlife conservation, veterinary excellence, and sustainable animal care.

Vantara: A Safe Haven for Rescued Elephants

At the core of this recognition is Vantara’s state-of-the-art Elephant Care Centre, which serves as a sanctuary for over 240 rescued elephants. The facility provides a chain-free, secure, and enriching environment, enabling elephants to heal from years of abuse and exploitation.

The sanctuary is home to:
✅ 30 elephants rescued from circuses
✅ Over 100 elephants saved from the logging industry
✅ Several others rescued from exploitative tourism, street begging, and illegal captivity

At Vantara, elephants roam freely across a 998-acre forest reserve, engaging in natural behaviors like foraging, mud and dust bathing, and swimming in natural ponds. This humane and stress-free environment ensures their physical and psychological rehabilitation—a revolutionary approach to elephant welfare in India.

Anant Ambani: A Visionary in Animal Welfare

Anant Ambani’s love for animals is well known, and Vantara is a manifestation of his deep-rooted commitment to wildlife conservation. His vision goes beyond just rescuing animals; he champions their dignity, ensuring they receive the highest standards of care.

Vivaan Karani, CEO of Vantara, expressed his gratitude upon receiving the award, stating:

“This award is a tribute to the countless individuals who have devoted their lives to protecting and caring for India’s animals. At Vantara, serving animals is not just a duty—it is our dharma and seva, a commitment deeply rooted in compassion and responsibility. We remain relentless in our mission to elevate welfare standards, drive impactful initiatives, and safeguard India’s rich biodiversity for generations to come.”

Anant Ambani’s vision of ‘compassionate conservation’ has made Vantara a global model for ethical wildlife care, inspiring corporations, governments, and conservationists worldwide.

World-Class Veterinary Care at India’s Largest Elephant Hospital

A key highlight of Vantara’s mission is its advanced Elephant Hospital, the largest of its kind, providing cutting-edge treatments that blend modern allopathy with alternative therapies like Ayurveda and acupuncture.

Specialized Medical Facilities at Vantara:

✅ Multi-patient capacity – Treats three elephant patients simultaneously, ensuring efficient, high-quality medical care.

Through these state-of-the-art medical innovations, Vantara is redefining elephant healthcare in India, setting a gold standard for veterinary excellence.

India’s Largest Fleet of Elephant Ambulances

Rescuing elephants from distressing conditions requires safe and stress-free transport. Vantara has designed and operates the largest fleet of elephant ambulances in India, setting a global precedent in ethical rescue and transportation.

Key Features of Vantara’s Elephant Ambulances

✅ 75 custom-engineered vehicles equipped with hydraulic lifts.
✅ Rubber mat flooring for safety and comfort.
✅ Onboard water troughs, showers, and caretaker cabins for a stress-free journey.
✅ GPS tracking for real-time monitoring and emergency response.

By introducing these groundbreaking innovations, Vantara ensures rescued elephants receive immediate care and reach the sanctuary safely.

‘Prani Mitra’ Award

The ‘Prani Mitra’ National Award, presented by the Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, Government of India, is India’s highest honor in animal welfare. It acknowledges corporations, PSUs, and organizations that have consistently contributed to animal welfare through sustained CSR investments and impactful initiatives.

By winning this prestigious award, Vantara has reaffirmed its leadership in ethical wildlife conservation, paving the way for more corporate-driven animal welfare initiatives.

A Legacy of Love

Anant Ambani’s unwavering commitment to ethical animal care and wildlife preservation is shaping a transformative movement in India’s conservation landscape.

With this national recognition, Vantara is poised to expand its efforts, with plans to:
✅ Scale up elephant rescue operations and extend sanctuary facilities.
✅ Introduce AI-driven diagnostic tools for better animal healthcare.
