Community radio station Alfaz-e-Mewat FM 107.8, an initiative (S M Sehgal Foundation), is awarded with the national award for its sustainability model. The award ceremony was held on July 23-24, 2023, during the Regional Community Radio Conclave (North India) at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi. Anurag Singh Thakur, the Hon’ble Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting and Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, presented the award.

Mrs. Pooja O. Murada, Principal Lead, Outreach for Development, and the Representative of community radio Alfaz-e-Mewat, received the award on behalf of the radio station. The sustainability for community radio covers different aspects including the sustainability of the content, community, technology, and financial.

Community Radio Alfaz-e-Mewat FM 107.8 was established in 2012 by S M Sehgal Foundation (a non-governmental organization). The radio station reaches out to various sections of society through programs related to children, adolescents, women, farmers, and the elderly in villages of Nuh district in Haryana and some villages in Rajasthan.
