Company serves over 70,000 meals to schoolchildren, plants 12,000 trees and records more than 70 voluntary blood donations
MUMBAI (India CSR®): Alembic marked its 119th Foundation Day with a series of community-focused initiatives spanning child nutrition, environmental sustainability and healthcare. The programmes were undertaken in Vadodara and at the company’s Karakhadi manufacturing facility, reflecting its emphasis on creating social impact beyond its core healthcare operations.
Nutrition for Children
Child nutrition formed a major part of the Foundation Day activities. Alembic launched an initiative to provide freshly prepared and nutritious hot lunches to nearly 11,900 children every day across more than 37 government schools in Vadodara.Conducted between July 28 and August 4, 2026, the programme is expected to serve more than 70,000 meals. The initiative aims to support the health, well-being and learning needs of schoolchildren by improving their access to nutritious food. Adequate nutrition plays an important role in children’s physical development, concentration and classroom participation. Through the meal programme, Alembic sought to combine its anniversary celebrations with direct assistance to children studying in government schools.
Greener Vadodara
Alembic also completed the plantation of 12,000 trees across Vadodara as part of the celebrations. The plantation initiative is intended to contribute to improving green cover and supporting a healthier local environment. Tree plantation can help address environmental challenges by absorbing carbon dioxide, supporting biodiversity, reducing soil erosion and moderating local temperatures. The initiative reinforces the company’s stated commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible community development.

Blood Donation
Alongside the nutrition and plantation programmes, Alembic organised a blood donation camp at its Karakhadi F5 facility. Employees from the company’s manufacturing plants in Karakhadi participated in the drive, resulting in more than 70 voluntary blood donations. The camp encouraged employee participation in an initiative that directly supports healthcare services and patients requiring blood for medical procedures and emergencies. The response also highlighted the role corporate employees can play in strengthening community health efforts through voluntary action.
Community Commitment
The Foundation Day programmes build on Alembic’s long-standing association with the communities surrounding its operations. By bringing together nutrition, environmental action and voluntary blood donation, the company used the occasion to address multiple areas of community well-being. As Alembic enters its 120th year, the company said it would continue working towards initiatives that strengthen communities, promote well-being and contribute to a more sustainable future.
