MUMBAI: ACC Ltd, recognizes women empowerment as a key pillar for sustainable development and has consistently worked towards creating an equitable environment for the growth of communities.

ACC’s Swavlamban initiative has empowered 14399 women by promoting gender equality. Ensuring sustainable livelihoods and financial independence of women is a key focus area of the initiative.

Through Swavlamban, ACC encourages the women to form Self Help Groups (SHGs) in and around the areas of its operations. It aids them in the establishment of micro-enterprises to increase their family income and empower their decision making abilities. Thus, helping them build their rightful place in the   community.

“At ACC, we are committed to creating an inclusive ecosystem for sustainable development of our communities. Through Swavlamban, we will continue to empower our womenfolk and provide them opportunities to improve their quality of lives and earn sustainable livelihoods.” said, Sridhar Balakrishnan, MD and CEO, ACC Ltd.

As part of ACC’s Livelihood, Employability and Income Generation pillar, ACC Swavlamban also works towards setting up old age homes, day care centres and such other facilities for senior citizens and has put in place measures for reducing inequalities faced by socially and economically backward groups.
