Ircon International Limited [IRCON], a Miniratna (Category-I) Schedule – A Public Sector Enterprises, had undertaken the beautification of the Bengaluru Railway Station of South Western Railways under IRCON’s CSR Initiative.

Over the last few years, the national transporter is effortlessly working towards beautification as well as redevelopment of railway stations across the country. Under this initiative, Ircon has given a makeover to Bengaluru Railway Station through mural wall paintings.

This restoration work will not only make the stations look attractive with colorful and vibrant artwork, but will also showcase the culture of South India, which is one of the oldest and thriving cultures in the world, the company claims.

IRCON says that the culture and heritage of a country have a very high value. It reflects and shapes, values, beliefs and aspirations while defining our national identity. As a part of our CSR efforts, we strive to protect and promote culture and heritage in the community by undertaking several initiatives in this field.

Commenting on the same, S. K. Chaudhary, Chairman & Managing Director, IRCON, said, “IRCON believes that the culture and heritage of a country is of utmost importance. It reflects and shapes our values, beliefs and aspirations while defining our national identity. As a part of our CSR efforts, we strive to protect and promote the culture and heritage in the community by undertaking several initiatives in this field.”

The diversion of CSR fund for beautification works is true CSR?
