How do I Sign – Whom to Copy

One of my friends was signing his resignation letter and the HR person, who happened to be a self acclaimed ‘expert’ in reading signatures, commented immediately – “your signatures are very progressive, you will get tremendous growth opportunities.”

My friend was stunned by this reaction. He was resigning as he had got frustrated in the company. His question to me was – “Are the signatures so powerful to predict your future? Should I change my signatures? Though, I am changing my Organization.”

We never thought anything while deciding on our signature patterns. What we could remember easily became our signatures. We always thought signatures should have our complete name. More so, I should know that these are my signatures. Even after signing so many cheques, sometimes bank still insists on signing the way we signed it while making an account.

Finally, putting my mind to rest, I decided to take the help of “Google Baba” to find out how few people we admire signed.

I was told by many that people whose signature flow to upward right, progress tremendously in life and career. Wondering, if only signatures could change the bank-balance, I would have kept my name as “signature” altogether.

I was also told that people whose signatures are somewhat straight are straight-forward in their approach. They have their aura and people admire them tremendously.

Very rarely people suggested signatures that flow downward right.

Some people are very particular of using some Hindi alphabets in their signatures and make their signatures look different and complicated. Such people are said to be difficult in understand and are often beyond imagination. They are also unpredictable and difficult to be judged.

Ironically, signatures of few people are sometimes so simple that anyone can try copying and might succeed also. Though, I never found signatures of parents, school teachers and doctors easy to be copied, or else, neither teacher would have summoned nor a chemist.

Many people also sign in such a way that it is difficult to know who signed it – no visibility of names.

Now, Google helped me find few signature patterns of top politicians, industrialists, cricketers and actors – these are few of the ones who have ruled our mind for many years.

Signatures of our late PM Smt. Indira Gandhi, former PM Dr. Manmohan Singh, Industrialists like Mr. Ratan Tata, Mr. Mukesh Ambani, Mr. Anand Mahindra, and Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla, were found to be almost straight.

Signatures of our current PM Shri Narendra Modi, former President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam ISRO Chief Dr. K. Sivan, Bollywood actors Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, Mr. Salman Khan, Mr. Shahrukh Khan, Cricketer Mr. Kapil Dev, Mr. Sunil Gavaskar and Mr. Mahendra Dhoni, moved to upward right.

Even I sign from left to upward right. Wondering who am I ?

Now, I am also trying to think – should I sign straight or should my signatures be moving upward right? Who do I want to become?

Well, it is quite late for me now.

To my friend I suggested him, “when you join new organization just try to keep your signatures consistent. You would be required to sign at many places and just ensure you keep your signatures the same all the time – All the Best.
