Amit Ashu, a resident of Patna in Bihar was left in a fix when his grandmother faced severe chest pain at 1:30 AM. With no transport mode available to take her to the hospital, Amit requested for a mini on the Ola app and got more than a driver, an individual with a sense of civic duty. In a LinkedIn post, Amit explains the ordeal his family went through before Rajesh Kumar came to their rescue.
He exhibited a high presence of mind and took complete ownership of making the ailing lady feel comfortable. Rajesh helped the family keep calm, and assisted them in making sure that ailing Mrs. Ashu was taken to the hospital, without delay.
Rajesh was felicitated today by Ola, for for his impeccable sense of service and commitment.
On being facilitated, Rajesh Kumar, Ola’s driver-partner said, “It was my duty to ensure that my ailing passenger reaches the hospital and receives timely treatment. While Ola’s recognition does feel special, for me it was all in a day’s work. I have never believed in canceling rides or causing any inconvenience to my customers. I also urge my fellow drivers to be sensitive to such critical situations, when they come across them.”
