JSPL Foundation launches child care project Sneh in Angul, Odisha

The Foundation to provide nutritious food, health check-up service and support ITI Training of inmate in Jindal Home, managed by Adruta Children Home, Angul

ANGUL (Odisha): Pursuing the vision of its President Shallu Jindal, JSPL Foundation launched Project Sneh in Jindal Home, built by of Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL), in Angul for holistic nurturing of the children who do not have the privilege of having parental care. Under this project the Foundation will provide nutritious food, monthly health check-up facility and two years free industrial training to all the inmates in Jindal Home, managed by Adruta Children Home.

“We visualise to reach out every child who does not have the umbrella of parental care for his/her holistic nurturing. Project Sneh is one of our many initiatives to shape up the lives of those children, who need us now, so that they are brought up well to take good care of my Country’s future,” said Shallu Jindal, President JSPL Foundation.

The nutritious food will be provided everyday three times to the inmates. Food for new-borns is also included under this project. And every month a doctor will visit the children home for health check- up. All the 10th Passed out inmates of the children home will be provided free industrial training up to two years at OP Jindal Community College (OPJCC), Angul. Under this project, already two eligible students have been admitted in OPJCC for ITI training in Fitter trade. About 100 inmates of the children home will be benefited by this programme of JSPL Foundation.

Jindal Mahila Samiti (JMS) President Mrs. Sujata Saraogi graced this occasion with other members of the society and inaugurated this programme with serving of food to the inmates. Congratulating JSPL Foundation for such a noble initiative, Executive Director (I/C) and Location Head of JSPL’s Angul unit Dinesh Kumar Saraogi said, “JSPL Foundation is known for its holistic development interventions. I hope this comprehensive programme will help Adruta Children Home’s inmates in getting quality food and health service”.

Pushpalata Satapathy, DGM-CSR and Ashutosh Mishra, AGM-CSR of JSPL were also present on this occasion and coordinated it.

It is noteworthy that JSPL Foundation has constructed the building, known as Jindal Home, for the inmates of Adruta Children Home and recently, Mrs. Shallu Jindal spent a memorable time with these kids on the eve of New Year 2016. Under Project Sneh, JSPL Foundation has also been providing food material of high nutritional value and regular health check-up service to about 850 underprivileged and tribal children in Adivasi Vikash Samiti at Barbil, in Keonjhar District.
