New Delhi: Colgate-Palmotive India Ltd indicated 3 complaints on women sexual harassment in FY2018-19, the annual report of the company says.
However, the company has zero tolerance towards any kind of harassment, including sexual harassment or discrimination and has constituted an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) to investigate and resolve sexual harassment complaints.
The company has also implemented a Policy on Prevention of Sexual Harassment which is reviewed by the ICC at regular intervals. Any complaint made to the ICC is treated fairly and confidentially.
The legislation of India has also provided a penal provision for safety of women at their work places through Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2013.
According to a FICCI-EY November 2015 report, 36% of Indian companies and 25% among MNCs are not compliant with the Sexual Harassment Act, 2013.
The government has threatened to take stern action against employers who fail to comply with this law.
Further, during the Year, 3 complaints under sexual harassment were received and investigated out of which 2 complaints were resolved by the ICC.
There is still 1 complaint under investigation at the end of the financial year 2018-19, the annual report of the company says.
