Bhubaneswar – Aditya Birla Group company, Hindalco Industries organised a mass tree sapling plantation campaign on 24 Aug at Hirakud in Odisha. The purpose of this drive was to raise awareness about the importance of tree planting to control pollution levels.
The mass plantation drive was conducted in association with the Dr B R Ambedkar Yuvak Sangh to plant more than 300 saplings to make the area green and vibrant.
“As a responsible corporate citizen, we believe in giving back to society and are always committed as well as sensitive to the various facets of environment,” R. K. Gupta, the Head of Hindalco Sambalpur cluster said.
“We have our plans to plant more and more trees in this periphery in a phased manner with the support of the women Self Help Groups (SHGs) and the Yuvak Sangha of the area, he added.
