New Delhi – Asian Paints aims to enhance the employment opportunities and expand the skills of painters, applicators and carpenters through vocational training.
The company spent Rs 25.09 crore on skill development through colour academy during FY 2018-19 (Apr-Mar) and conducted over 1.5 lakh training sessions in various categories.
The company also imparts technical information, prepare content and deliver training modules.
Skilling and vocational training programmes covered the cities of Mumbai, Nagpur, Aurangabad and Pune in Maharashtra, Bengaluru in Karnataka, Hyderabad in Telangana, Chennai in Tamil Nadu, Kolkata and Burdwan in West Bengal, Ahmedabad in Gujarat, Lucknow, Varanasi, Kanpur, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur and Agra in Uttar Pradesh, Jabalpur and Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, Jaipur in Rajasthan, Ludhiana in Punjab, Kozhikode in Kerala, Bhubaneshwar in Odisha, Dehradun in Uttrakhand, Delhi, Chandigarh and Jammu & Kashmir.
Skill building empowers individual, drives financial growth and develops community of the nation.
Asian Paints also encourage the employees to participate in volunteering activities that strengthen the ability to deliver CSR initiatives of the company.
During FY 2018-19, more than 123 employees participated in four events that directly impacted over 1,200 beneficiaries in Mumbai.
The company is committed towards National Skill Development Mission and is contributing towards upskilling of India’s unorganised workforce.
