New Delhi: Gilead Sciences, Inc, the biopharmaceutical company has announced the launch of the 2019 Gilead Asia Pacific Rainbow Grants (GAPRG) programme on 3 Jul. The initiative aims to support community-led programmes for people living with HIV in the Asia Pacific region.
2019 GAPRG seeks to improve the quality of life of people living with HIV by focussing multidisciplinary care, diversity and inclusion. The programme has invited applications for funding from the non-governmental and advocacy organisations for the first time in India. The last date for submitting the application form is 30 Sep.
“We are pleased to bring the Rainbow Grants program to India this year. Gilead has been championing the cause of access to care in India, and we believe in the power of partnerships to bring about solutions that can make a difference,” said Rahul Bargaje, Managing Director, Public Health and Medical Affairs Director at Gilead Sciences India.
The main focus of the grant is to improve HIV management and create a positive impact among the local community members living with HIV. Gilead has expanded the grants program to 18 countries, nearly doubling the geographic scope from last year’s program.
More than $1 million was awarded to 28 organisations across ten countries and territories last year.
