NEW DELHI: Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a core component of Amway’s ethos, this is the saying of Simrat Bishnoi, National Head – Corporate Communications & Corporate Social Responsibility, Amway India.

On the occasion of receiving an honor for Corporate Social Responsibility works, he said, “We have been undertaking CSR initiatives since the company’s inception in the country.”

“Amway’s commitment is ‘Helping people live better lives’ and making a strong impact on the lives of over 2.5 lakh visually impaired individuals under the project.”, she said.

“Aligned with the Government of India’s Accessible India initiative aimed at expanding prospects for people with disabilities, Amway has been supporting and empowering the visually impaired individuals by creating opportunities for their education as well as digitization of the educational material for greater accessibility.”, she further added.

Suresh Prabhu, Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation, Government of India, presented the award to Simrat Bishnoi, National Head – Corporate Communications & Corporate Social Responsibility, Amway India.

As a key focus area, Amway has been working tirelessly towards the welfare of the visually impaired individuals with a firm belief that education and knowledge are the keys to the future transcending physical limitations. Amway India started CSR initiatives in 1999 with the National Project for the Visually Impaired to provide opportunities of quality education to visually impaired, thereby improving their employment prospects.

Under this project, Amway has launched Braille textbooks, audio books and libraries, computer training centers, BPOs, and several other initiatives which has helped in increasing the education prospects of the visually impaired. So far, the project has impacted the lives of over 2.50 Lakh visually impaired individuals.
