ETAWAH (UP): Today, Bimtech established it’s 7th prison library known as BIMTECH PUSTAKALYA in the district jail Etawah with the support of Bimtech Foundation and Ranganathan Society.
The library was inaugurated by P. K. Shrivastava CDO – Etawah, Prof. Chari and R. K. Singh (Jail Superintendent) in the presence of many academicians, social workers, businessmen and hundreds of jail inmates.
The project of establishing libraries in Jails was started in the year 2012 under the visionary leadership and directions of Dr. Harivansh Chaturvedi, Director-Bimtech for the mental, social, economic and academic rehabilitation of jail inmates.
BIMTECH – Pustakalay are running very successfully in District jail Lukhnow, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Gautam BudhNagar, Agra and Aligarh. Because of the impact of this “library therapy”, the demand of opening libraries in other jails is increasing day by day.
Very shortly, BIMTECH is going to establish three more libraries in different districts of UP. My compliments to our PGDM student Kartik Yadav and Shams Khan (Executive Member of Ranganathan Society) who leaded this project very successfully.
“On behalf of BIMTECH Foundation, My sincere thanks to all the friends who extended their unconditional support for this project.”, said Dr. Rishi Tiwari, lead for library development.
