PETAMITTA (Chittoor): On the occasion of 20 years of its successful joint venture with Johnson Controls, Amara Raja Group today showcased its CSR and community development activities in petamitta village, Chittoor district.
Dr. Ramchandra N. Galla, Founder Chairman and Mr Jayadev Galla, Vice Chairman- Amara Raja Group, Mr. George R. Oliver Chairman & CEO, Johnson Controls and his 9 member delegation both from Global and Asia Pacific (APAC) leadership teams were present during the event.
The visiting team walked around the village witnessing a transformation story of petamitta village. All the other CSR and community development activities undertaken by Amara Raja Group in Karakambadi, Petamitta, Rangampeta and Diguvamagham in the Chittoor district under the aegis of Rajanna Trust were explained to the team.
The CSR activities undertaken by the Company have brought in positive developments in the areas of village development and infrastructure, education and environment. The trust also strives to ensure fair and equitable participation of rural households in national development.
To achieve their objectives, the trust focuses on giving equal access to every person in the community in terms of healthcare, quality education, skills development training, employment, equal remuneration and safety.
Moving forward in line with the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, the Amara Raja Group is committed to developing skilled resources that would contribute to the development of the country and in turn give the rural youth an opportunity to channelize their talent.
Further to the CSR immersion, George R. Oliver along with Dr Ramachandra N. Galla assembled to interact with a huge gathering of students of Amara Raja run educational institutions and Amara Raja Skill development Centre.
The students participated in a very lively discussion and asked lot of questions which were patiently answered by both the dignitaries.
