Bajaj Electricals pledges to plant 10,000 mangroves on the ‘International Day of Mangroves’

MUMBAI: On the occasion of International Day of Mangroves Bajaj Electricals’ has committed to plant 10,000 mangroves on the area allotted by Forest Department. The company has also partnered with NGO, United Way Mumbai (UWM) to create awareness on the importance of mangroves among the youth.

The NGO along with the Mangrove Cell by the Government of Maharashtra has organized a special forum on the theme of Mangrove Conservation: A Collective Responsibility which is supported by Bajaj Electricals.

The team unveiled an educational animated film Mangroves: The Shore keepers of Mumbai मैंग्रोव: मुंबई के तटरक्षक, created in bilingual language i.e. English and Hindi along with subtitle which is a field guide to Mangrove Ecosystem of Greater Mumbai – This film is a CSR Initiative of Bajaj Electricals made in collaboration with NGO partner UWM in support of the CSR project ‘Mission Mangroves’ for spreading awareness and educating on the importance of mangrove protection and conservation to diverse stakeholders.

Bajaj Electricals Limited, a trusted Indian company is a part of US $20 Billion “Bajaj Group”. Bajaj Electricals business is spread across – Consumer Products (Appliances, Fans, Lighting), Exports, Luminaires and EPC (Illumination, Transmission Towers and Power Distribution). The company also has a presence in the hi-end range of appliances with the brands like Platini and Morphy Richards in India.

Bajaj Electricals has 19 branch offices spread in different parts of India besides being supported by a chain of Dealers and Distributors across the country and around 100 exclusive showrooms called ‘Bajaj World’. To support this wide network, it has 418 consumer care centers across the country.

The CSR activities at Bajaj Electricals are guided by the 4 pillars – sustainability, diversity (gender inclusion), employee volunteering and community outreach. Our priorities for the Community Outreach Programmes are ensuring Environmental sustainability, Education, Promoting Preventing Health Care& Promotion of Arts and Culture.

United Way Mumbai is a part of the 128year old United Way movement engaged in nearly 1800 communities, spanning 41 countries across the world. UWM with a network of 400 more NGOs and a large numbers of corporates for their CSR programmes, workplace giving campaigns and other events. Its flagship programmes have been largely in the areas of civic awareness, health, safety and greening.
