BANGALORE: AkzoNobel in a gala ceremony held recently at its factory premises in Bangalore, celebrated the completion of training and certification for 500 painters in vehicle refinish and decorative paints, through its paint academy. This marked the beginning of a new chapter for the company India. While around 220 of them were trained in decorative paints at AkzoNobel Academy, more than 280 youths were trained in vehicle refinish by training partner Sambhav Foundation, an initiative of LabourNet. Training in such specialised areas has improved their growth prospects in the automobile industry. More than 70% of the trained painters are already placed in the body shops of leading agencies that sell and service cars from brands like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Mahindra & Mahindra, Chevrolet and Ford.
