Karunya University is renowned for its Engineering, Business, Arts and Humanities programs. The Faculty of Engineering and Business are among the largest in the region. About 80% of the graduating students are placed with reputed organizations prior leaving the KU campus. Being ‘practical’ is what counts in Karunya. The labs are provided with top class equipments, the Nanotech Laboratory houses an Electron Microscope, the Aerospace Labs houses the Super-Sonic and Sub-Sonic Wind Tunnels, the Food Processing Labs are recognized by the Government of India and the Media Tech Labs stacked with all the paraphernalia required for any video or audio production.
Karunya University has signed MoUs with several institutions of repute around the globe. The agreements facilitate establishing collaborative ventures with foreign Universities and Technical institutions in terms of student projects, exchange of faculty members, twinning & dual degree programs and establishing Centers of Excellence in advanced scientific and technical areas. Through the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE) students are provided with international internships and opportunities to be employed abroad in organizations of global standards.
Karunya is spreading wings in the field of Research and Development with more than 38 on-going research projects funded by various reputed funding agencies to the tune of INR 12 Crores. The Department of Science and Technology, Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), Board of Research in Fusion Science & Technology (BRFST), Defense Research Laboratory (DRL), DRDO, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Department of Space and ISRO are institution of repute among them.
Karunya is a residential University with diverse multicultural students hailing from all over India and abroad. Students are housed in thirteen well-furnished hostels with all facilities provided within the campus. A Hospital, Bank, ATM, Guest House, Restaurant, Utility Stores, Xerox Shop, Studio and Café Coffee Day are at campus! The Directorate of Value Education grooms student’s personality to inculcate self-discipline with an aim to produce good citizens to the world.
Karunya University owns state of the art arenas and encourages students develop their sporting skills. States of art Gymnasium, Indoor Stadiums, Track and Field Grounds are highly equipped. Extra-curricular activities are part of the student’s life in the campus. Singing, liberal arts, dancing, music, acting are a lifestyle in the campus. Several co-curricular activities are paralleled by the different campus departments like NSS, NCC, Rotract Club, Toast Master’s club, Astronomy Club, Food and Nutrition Club, Journalism club, Photo and Video Club. Campus TV is a web based television channel managed by the students of the Department of Electronics and Media Technology.
