JAMSHDEPUR: Manasi, Tata Motors Officers’ Wives Welfare Organization, hosted the Girl Child Scholarship Program on Saturday. The program started with the lighting of lamp by chief Guest A B Lall, Plant Head, Tata Motors, and Bharati Lall, president of Manasi Club.
Sumant Sinha, GM (ER, Welfare & CSR), Ravi Singh, GM (HR), and Ranjit Dhar, Head (Safety & Admin) also graced the inaugural function.
This year Manasi provided scholarships to economically backward students to empower them with education, thereby endorsing their motto “We Dare to Care”.
Besides providing students with 158 scholarship covering 22 schools, it also donated generously to Nirmal Hriday, Parivar Kalyan Sangh and old age home.
It is worthwhile to mention that Manasi Club has been able to meet its objectives to serve the interests of the marginalized sections of the society due to the generous support extended by reputed companies of the city namely, Tata Motors, Tata Steel, Tata Power, Tinplate Ltd, Jusco and others.
While looking after the disadvantaged/ underprivileged members of the society it is also trying to revive our art and culture, essential in this fast paced mechanized existence. This year, Manasi Club organized Musical concert of the world famous sarod players.
Manasi also provided a platform to the students of Jamshedpur Schools to participate in Debate, Elocution and Creative Writing, both in Hindi and English through a program called “EKHO,” held on December 12, 2015.
The combined proceeds of these events are judiciously used in sponsoring activities like cataract operation, supporting thalassemia and leprosy patients and providing scholarships to girls of the economically backward sections of the society.
Manasi which started in the year 1997 has come a long way as it has grown from a small group of committed individuals to a registered welfare organization. It is committed to improve the cause of the less privileged through a range of activities like sponsoring cataract operations, supporting thalassemia and cancer patients, providing scholarship to financial poor students.
