DEHERADUN: The desire of 2000 employees of Strides Arcolab Ltd, Bangalore to support the flood affected victims of Uttarakhand (June 2013) was converted as a dream of the Strides Foundation Bangalore has finally taken its tangible shape on the Eve of the Children’s Day.
The foundation along with its Alliance partner Society For Inclusive Development (SFID) handed over four newly reconstructed Anaganwari’s Centers to Bal Vikar Adhikari (Distt. Project Officer), ICDS Uttarkashi Mukul Choudhary and CPDO Purola Smt Salita Agarwal.
It was a vision of Strides Foundation to support the young toddlers of Uttarakhand with its resources and decided to adopt all the eight damaged and Partially damaged Anagwari’s at Purola Block of Uttarkashi to reconstruct and dedicate the same to the society by handing over to ICDS Dept. Govt. of Uttarakhand.
Before starting the construction a survey was conducted by SFID in Didsarim Mori, Purola and Joshiyara blocks of Uttarkashi. As the land was not available or viable in other regions, so Purola Block was identified and selected .
An Tripartite MOU was signed with DM/DPO, Uttarkashi on 27 January 2014 and construction of work was started in May 2014 after getting the necessary approval of the design and structure. Now Foundation has completed the first phase of construction of four Anaganwari’s at Sunali, Mairana, Srikot and Nagjhala Anaganwari’s and was handed over on 12th November 2014 to DPO, ICDS in the presence of Local MLA Malchand, Congress leader Surya kant Dhasmana, SDM Pandey, CPDO, BDO , Gram Pradhan and other local dignitaries .
The Function was marked by the cultural program by the Anaganwari’s Children and local folk artist from Rawai Jaunpur Sunder Premi.
The gathering and the authorities have profusely thanked Dr. Sathyanarayan, Managing Trustee, Strides Foundation, Anil Jaggi, President SFID and DS Panwar for their yeoman service to the society.
Taking the inspiration from the quality of the work of Anaganwari’s Local MLA Malchand announced that he would make arrangement for getting the gas connection to all Anganwaris and extend financial support for the pavement in front of the Anaganwaris.
DPO also committed that water and electricity connection would be provided to all ICDS center. Dhasmana has assured to provide two computers to educated local youths in IT education and other skill development programs.
Now Strides Foundation and SFID will be taking up the reconstruction of another four Anaganwari’s at Chandeli, Kufara, Bichlamath and Hudoli and planned to complete by March 2015 .
