APRAJITA – mason (Raj – Mistri) technical training program Specially for women at village Janjgir
AMNAR/RAIGARH: In rural areas, mainly in construction trade, women are working as a daily labor due to lack of skills. This resulted into low income of these women instead of working for more hours than a skilled labor.
Jindal Steel & Power Limited, Coal Mines CSR Team took an initiative in partnership with O.P. Jindal Community College, Punjipathra, Raigarh, Chhattisgarh to upgrade the skill of these women by providing them Mason training. In past , Women are known as ‘Home – Maker’, with this initiative these women will be the real ‘Home – Maker’ not only for their own house, but also for others. These ‘Home – Makers’ on one side will build the houses of others and on another side will earn a good amount for their own house. This will not only make them financially independent and make them capable of living a better life – style for them as well as for their families.
Coal Mines CSR in partnership with OPJCC started a mason training program in the month of February 2014 for 4 month duration with 27 women at village Janjgir. The “Mason training program specially designed for women is named as APRAJITA.
APARAJITA program targets vulnerable women for skills training to bring about gender equality and dignity of labor. APARAJITA aims to empower women for sustainable livelihood creation also to change mindsets about women in the construction sector for social and economic change.
Now women are feeling happy to join such type of skill training and they learned how to manage home and work place through this training.
