Karan Aujla’s music video “5-7” has drawn attention for its visual presentation, but behind several of its seemingly real-life sequences is extensive visual-effects work. Eastape Films has revealed behind-the-scenes material showing how CGI, live-action VFX and digital compositing were used to create some of the video’s most noticeable scenes.

The music video is directed by Agam Mann and Aseem Mann, with Eastape Films handling the VFX work. Navi Joshi and Veerinder Singh are credited as VFX Producers. Following the release of “5-7,” the VFX team shared photographs and before-and-after comparisons that provide a closer look at how several sequences were developed.

The Car Drift Scene Combines Live Action and CGI

One of the most notable sequences in “5-7” is the car-drifting scene featuring Karan Aujla. The sequence can initially appear to be a straightforward real-world stunt, particularly because the singer has previously been seen in real-life car-drifting clips shared online.

However, the VFX breakdown shows that the scene involved a combination of CGI and live-action visual effects. The distinction is not immediately obvious in the finished video, demonstrating how digital elements can be integrated into filmed footage without making the intervention visually apparent.

The behind-the-scenes comparisons provide a clearer understanding of the production process, showing the difference between the original footage and the final frame presented in the music video.

Award Show Environment Built Through CGI

Another sequence highlighted in the VFX material is the award-show scene, where Karan Aujla is shown receiving an award.

While the finished sequence resembles footage captured at a large award event, the surrounding environment was digitally constructed using CGI. Before-and-after images shared by Eastape Films and the VFX team show how the original source material was transformed into the completed frame.

The sequence combines live-action performance with a digitally created environment, allowing the production to achieve the scale and appearance required for the scene without relying entirely on a physically constructed award-show venue.

Island Sequence Shows Digital Environment Creation

The island sequence appearing toward the end of “5-7” is another major example of the VFX work involved in the video.

The final shot presents a large-scale island environment that was created through digital visual effects and compositing. The production photographs and comparisons shared by the VFX team show how the source material captured during filming differed from the environment ultimately visible in the music video.

Unlike the car sequence, where VFX contributes primarily to an action-oriented moment, the island sequence demonstrates the use of digital technology to create an entire visual environment around the performers.

Behind-the-Scenes Material Offers a Closer Look

Along with the technical breakdowns, photographs shared through the social media accounts of Eastape Films, Navi Joshi and Veerinder Singh show members of the VFX and direction teams working on the production alongside Karan Aujla.

The images provide additional context about the relationship between the production and post-production stages. In several cases, the source material appears considerably simpler than the finished frames shown in the final video.

This difference is particularly relevant to “5-7,” where some of the video’s larger visual elements are not immediately recognizable as digitally created when viewed without the original footage for comparison.

How Much of ‘5-7’ Was Created After Filming?

The VFX breakdowns reveal that several moments in “5-7” went beyond what was captured directly by the camera. The car sequence, award-show setting and island environment each involved different levels of CGI, compositing and digital manipulation.

For Eastape Films, the project brought together multiple categories of visual-effects work within a single music video. Navi Joshi and Veerinder Singh, serving as VFX Producers, coordinated the VFX work alongside directors Agam Mann and Aseem Mann and the wider production team.

The behind-the-scenes material does not change the way the scenes function within the music video, but it offers a different perspective on their production. What appears to be a real stunt, a large event venue or a distant island setting may involve several layers of digital work before reaching the final screen.

The “5-7” breakdown therefore highlights how contemporary music-video production increasingly combines live-action footage, CGI and post-production to create visual sequences that can appear largely natural to viewers.
