NEW DELHI (India CSR®): Vedanta Power Limited has launched its Corporate Social Responsibility Annual Report FY2025-26, marking the beginning of Vedanta Sustainability Month 2026, an initiative to translate sustainability commitments into action. The report was launched by Vedanta Power’s CEO and CFO, along with the senior leadership team. The month-long series of activities will include active employee and workforce participation at the shopfloors through tree plantation, environmental awareness drives, focus on cleanliness and waste management, workplace health and safety initiatives at plant operations, knowledge-drive interventions through quizzes and carnivals.

The initiative will bring together employees, business partners and communities across Vedanta Power’s operations. Vedanta Power’s sustainability approach is anchored in responsible operations, with environmental performance, workplace safety and community impact integrated across its ESG agenda.

Speaking on the initiative, Rajinder Singh Ahuja, CEO & Whole-time Director, Vedanta Power Limited, said, “At Vedanta Power, sustainability is integral to how we operate and grow our business. We are committed to delivering reliable power, round the clock, while continuously improving operational efficiency, using resources responsibly, upholding the highest standards of safety and zero harm philosophy of Vedanta while creating lasting value for our stakeholders and the communities around us. As we grow, we will continue to raise the bar on both operational performance and sustainability. Sustainability Month is an opportunity to bring this commitment together across our operations and, most importantly, translate it into action on the ground.”

During FY2025-26, employees contributed more than 500 hours of volunteering towards environmental and community initiatives, strengthening a culture of volunteerism across the organisation. Vedanta Power’s environmental efforts included the co-firing of approximately 3.3 lakh metric tonnes of torrefied biomass, contributing to an estimated reduction of 0.4 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions. To date, the company has also planted around 9 lakh trees across its operations, strengthening green cover and supporting biodiversity across its operating ecosystems.

Vedanta Power’s CSR initiatives are centred on integrating community development with its operational footprint, with a focus on long-term, measurable and inclusive growth aligned with regional needs. Key initiatives include supplying 15,000 litres of drinking water daily to 300 households, improving access to safe and reliable drinking water; installing around 450 solar streetlights benefiting around 22,000 community members, enhancing safety and mobility; and upgrading essential school infrastructure for more than 300 students, creating better-equipped environments for learning. During cyclone Ditwah-related relief efforts in December 2025, the company also provided meal support to around 850 community members, offering immediate assistance to affected families during a period of disruption.

To date, Vedanta Power’s initiatives have reached nearly 4 lakh beneficiaries, including around 1.6 lakh women and children. Together, Vedanta Power’s CSR interventions benefited nearly 87,000 people during FY2025-26 through programmes spanning education, healthcare, sustainable livelihoods, women’s empowerment, water and sanitation, environmental protection and community infrastructure.

Vedanta Sustainability Month 2026 will build on this foundation by bringing employees, business partners and communities together across the company’s operating regions for a focused period of participation, action and awareness, reinforcing Vedanta Power’s commitment to sustainable and responsible growth.
