The launch marks an important milestone ahead of India’s Most Beautiful Marathon, which has steadily evolved into a prominent destination-running event, drawing participants from across India and overseas against the backdrop of Udaipur’s iconic lakes and Aravalli landscape.

The unveiling of the official jersey and poster marked a key milestone in the build-up to the 2026 edition of the Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon, bringing alive the visual identity, energy and spirit of this year’s race. The launch ceremony was attended by Gaurav Srivastav, Inspector General of Police, Udaipur Range; Roshan Lal, Joint Commissioner, Central GST;Amarendu Prakash, CEO & Whole-time Director, Hindustan Zinc; representatives from Hindustan Zinc &Anybody Can Run (ABCR); and other distinguished members of the sporting and civic community.

Building on the previous edition’s participation of 7,000 runners from 27 Indian states and several countries, this year the marathon has already crossed 5,500 registrations across its three race categories, as runners from across India and beyond gear up for India’s Most Beautiful Marathon. Set against Udaipur’s iconic lakes, Aravalli landscape and cultural landmarks, the upcoming edition will bring together professional athletes, first-time runners, families, students and corporate teams under the shared banner of ‘One Run, One Community.’

Commenting on the occasion, Gaurav Srivastav, Inspector General of Police Udaipur Range, said, “The Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon has grown into an important sporting occasion for Udaipur, bringing together people from different backgrounds through a shared passion for fitness and community. What makes the event especially distinctive is the way it allows participants to experience the city through its beautiful landscapes while contributing to a larger social purpose. I am delighted to be part of the jersey and poster launch and wish all participants a memorable and inspiring race on September 6.”

The event opened with the grand launch of the marathon film, setting an energetic tone for the evening, followed by an innovative unveiling of the official jersey and poster that brought the hall alive and captured the spirit of the 2026 edition. Few employees of Hindustan Zinc also shared their personal running journeys and inspirations, adding a strong human connect to the celebration. The evening concluded on a high note with an engaging drum roll activity, filling the venue with energy and excitement. The launch reinforced the growing stature of the marathon as an annual sporting platform that brings together Udaipur’s natural beauty, cultural character and an increasingly diverse running community.

Amarendu Prakash, CEO & Whole-time Director, Hindustan Zinc, said, “The Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon represents our belief that sport can be a powerful platform for healthier communities, greater participation and meaningful social impact. Over the past editions, the event has grown well beyond a race to become a celebration of Udaipur and its people, while attracting runners from across India and beyond. As we unveil this year’s jersey and poster, we are proud to carry forward a platform that brings together fitness, purpose and the distinctive spirit of Zinc City. Through #RunForZeroHunger, we are also reinforcing the idea that every step taken on the course can contribute to a larger cause.”

Organised by Hindustan Zinc in association with Anybody Can Run, the event is AIMS-certified and affiliated with World Athletics, reflecting its alignment with established standards in long-distance running. The marathon’s identity is closely tied to the experience it offers runners, with the 21.097 km route beginning at Field Club and passing through Fateh Sagar Pal, Rotary Club, Sunset Point Park, Nehru Garden and Saheliyon Ki Bari before returning to the starting point. The 10 km and 5 km routes have been designed to offer accessible participation for runners across age groups and fitness levels, ensuring that the event remains inclusive while maintaining its competitive appeal.

The marathon’s growing popularity is also contributing to Udaipur’s emergence as a destination for sports and wellness experiences. Participants travelling from different parts of the country get an opportunity to combine the race with Udaipur’s lakes, heritage, hospitality and cultural attractions, creating a broader destination experience around the event. The increased movement of runners and accompanying families also supports local hotels, restaurants, transport providers and other businesses, adding an economic dimension to the city’s growing sporting calendar.

With the previous edition recording a 40% rise in participation and welcoming runners from across India and several countries, the 2026 edition is expected to see an even more diverse running community. Registrations are currently open through the official Udaipur Marathon and Hindustan Zinc digital platforms and will remain open until the race categories reach capacity.

As Udaipur prepares to welcome runners on 6 September, the Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon continues to build on its journey from a city race to a destination sporting experience, bringing together endurance, community, wellness and purpose in one of India’s most distinctive running settings.
