Foundation focuses on education, future-ready skills, mentorship and livelihoods to help young people become changemakers
NEW DELHI (India CSR): On International Youth Day, Cosmo Foundation has reiterated its commitment to empowering young people through a continuum of support that begins with learning and extends to skills, livelihoods, leadership and community impact. The Foundation believes that youth empowerment does not begin only when a young person enters the workforce. It begins much earlier, when children receive the opportunity to learn, explore, build confidence and discover their potential.
Under its youth-focused approach, Cosmo Foundation works across different stages of a young person’s journey—from foundational learning to employment-oriented skills and leadership development. The journey begins with Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN), basic education and digital literacy. These interventions aim to strengthen children’s ability to learn, adapt and grow in an increasingly knowledge-driven world. By improving foundational learning, the Foundation seeks to ensure that children have the confidence and capabilities needed to continue their educational journey.
Cosmo Foundation also supports students as they transition towards higher education, employment and the future of work. Career guidance, English communication and digital-skills initiatives help young people make informed choices and prepare for new opportunities. These efforts recognise that education must be connected with aspiration, awareness and practical skills.
With emerging sectors opening new employment pathways, the Foundation is equipping young women with technical capabilities through EV Technician training. The initiative aims to enable participation in evolving industries and create access to careers linked with the green mobility ecosystem. The Foundation’s youth-development approach also encourages rural youth to become community-based teachers. By sharing their knowledge and skills within their local areas, these young individuals can support learning while becoming active contributors to community development. This model creates a meaningful connection between individual growth and collective progress.
Through the Udayan Shalini Fellowship, Cosmo Foundation supports young women with mentorship, confidence-building and aspiration-led learning. The fellowship seeks to strengthen leadership potential and help young women pursue their educational and professional goals with greater confidence. The Foundation also promotes sustainable livelihood opportunities for women entrepreneurs through Beautiful Creation. The initiative helps transform skills and creativity into income-generating opportunities, enabling women to build more secure and independent futures.
Cosmo Foundation’s youth empowerment framework reflects a larger vision: education is only the beginning. The journey moves from learning to skills, opportunity, livelihood, leadership and ultimately community impact. This International Youth Day, the Foundation celebrates the potential of every young person and the opportunities that can turn that potential into lasting impact. By supporting young people from their early learning years to their leadership journeys, Cosmo Foundation aims to help create a generation of skilled individuals, community leaders and changemakers.
